Click Here To View Memorial Video August Wilford Rhoades, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 17, 2015, at his home. August was born August 20, 1934, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ezra Prichard Rhoades and Rosella Augusta Johnson Rhoades. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. On May 18, 1956, he married Pauline Evelyn Mathiesen in Idaho Falls. To this union were born five children, Steven, Paul, Roberta, Teresa, and James. August and Pauline made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where August worked in construction. He was an “Aug” of all trades and good at everything he did. He was a very hard worker and has taught his sons and grandsons many of his skills. He loved horseback riding and was especially talented at taming wild horses. He also trained dogs. He liked camping, fishing, and loved spending time with his family. August is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Pauline Rhoades of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Steven (Paulette) Rhoades of Poulsbo, WA; daughter, Roberta Rhoades Hall of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Teresa Rhoades of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Sharl (Carol) Rhoades; sister, Golda Burke; sister, Faye Whitney 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Rhoades, son, Paul Rhoades, brother, Carl Rhoades, brother, Leroy Rhoades, sister, Martha Lane, brother, Don Rhoades, brother, Arvin Rhoades. A gathering will be held at 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
