Arthur Rowe

Arthur Flavious Rowe, 87, of Ammon, passed away June 14, 2017, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.

Arthur was born April 26, 1930 in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado to Flavious Josephius and Neva Bethel (Holland) Rowe. He attended school in his early years in Cheyenne Wells, before the family moved on to Kansas and then Missouri. Art later moved to Illinois, where he worked as a brakeman on a railroad. His love of trains stayed with him forever.

Art married Viola Riney in 1950, and they had one girl together in 1953, Beverly Jean, born in Morrison, Illinois. They later divorced. On Nov 8, 1955, Art married Connie Jean Miller in Rock Falls, Illinois. They had a daughter, Dawn Loraine, in Rockford, Illinois. On July 8, 1958, they moved to Portland, Oregon, with Beverly and Dawn. Nine months later, Gary Arthur Rowe was born. Art started his own landscaping business in Portland, which he continued for 47 years before retiring. His son, Gary, joined the business and worked side by side with his Dad for several years. They worked hard, played hard and shared many laughs together.

In retirement, Art started a new life in Idaho Falls. After 43 years of marriage, Art and Connie divorced. Art took up new hobbies, traveling in his RV, walking, jogging, bicycling, reading and always gardening in his beautiful backyard surrounded by aspens. Art had a big soft spot for animals. He loved them all and especially loved his dogs.

Art will always be remembered with love for his great sense of humor and wit. We will forever hold his memory dear in our hearts next to all the funny stories we will share for years to come. We love you and miss you so very much, Dad.

Arthur is survived by his daughter, Beverly Jean Morsman (Joe) of Oregon; granddaughter Jaime Bauman (Brian); great grandson Brandon; grandson Daniel Baker (Marla); great grandchildren, Dylan and Leah; son, Gary (Gina) Rowe, Idaho Falls; grandson Nathan Rowe (Claire) and brand new great grandson, Arlo Arthur Rowe; daughter Nicole Baldwin (Sherrod); daughter, Dawn Lorraine, Ammon, ID; granddaughter Lena, grandson Jared; sister, Viola Hohn of Colorado; brother, Cyrus Rowe of Portland, OR; brother, Everett Rowe of Dothan, AL; sister, Carolyn Christensen of Iowa; sister, Sarah Holsclaw of Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
