Artella Smith

ARTELLA "TILLIE" SMITH IDAHO FALLS, ID - Artella “Tillie” Hammer Smith, 80, of Idaho Falls, crossed over September 29, 2004, at the home of her daughter. She was born April 21, 1924, in Idaho Falls, to William Hammer and Dora Mae Denning Hammer. She attended schools in Osgood and Ammon. She moved from Osgood at age 18. She married Max Smith in Idaho Falls in 1952. They were later divorced. She lived in Ririe for 40 years, and in Idaho Falls for the past 14 years. She worked as a waitress, for the telephone company and as a night auditor and bookkeeper for the Westbank Motel and Restaurant. She loved being with her family, playing bridge and golfing. She had a wonderful flower and vegetable garden which the whole community enjoyed. Surviving are: Daughter: Lela Smith, Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Donna Reynolds, Hastings, MN Sister: Doris Ames, Sister: Jean Flamm, Brother: Carlis Hammer, Brother: Keith Hammer, Grandchildren: Roger Tory (Laurie) Jones, Gina Petersen, Jay (Renae) Soelberg, Jeff (Bridgette) Fisher and David (Debbie) Reynolds, Jr., and 4 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Carlyle and Dward Hammer, and 2 sisters, Marion Janausek and Eunice Frandsen. Graveside Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2004, at the Ammon Cemetery, East Sunnyside Road. The family will visit with friends at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, October 2, at Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side.
