Arpad Lengyel, “Arpi”, 69, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 15, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Arpi was born June 8, 1942, in Budapest, Hungary, to Arpad Lengyel, Sr. and Ilona Szanto Kovacs Lengyel. He grew up in Hungary and then moved to the United States and lived in New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and New York. He lived in Idaho Falls for the past 20 years. On September 7, 1996, Arpi married Rachanee Wanveelai in Rigby, Idaho. He earned his BS and MBA degrees from Fairleigh Dickson University and worked as an engineer at the Idaho National Laboratory. Arpi enjoyed working with model trains. He had his pilot’s license, and loved to read and ride motorcycles. He was a world traveller and published author of the book “The Designated Driver.” Survivors include his wife, Rachanee Lengyel of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, Danne McWilliams of Stone Mountain, GA; Son, Ben (Tyrie) McWilliams of Idaho Falls, ID; Two grandsons, Riley and Kayden and two granddaughters, ”Little” Rachanee and Sayge; and a Brother, Ivan (Mary) Lengyel of New Jersey Arpi was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gabor Lengyel. Memorial Services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the services.
