ARMIN H. DURTSCHI
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Armin Henry Durtschi, 86, of Idaho Falls, died September 29, 2001, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Center.
He was born February 28, 1915 at Driggs, Idaho to Edward Durtschi and Elizabeth Muetzenberg Durtschi. He grew up and attended school in Driggs, graduating from Teton High School.
He married GloraDean Lowder on March 21, 1941 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They lived in Pocatello, Driggs, Ashton, and Idaho Falls. He worked 47 years for the Union Pacific Railroad as a brakeman and conductor and also enjoyed farming. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He enjoyed horses, music, and the outdoors.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Swiss-German Mission from 1934-37. He also served as an Assistant Ward Clerk, Sunday School President, and a Stake Missionary.

Janaye (Jim) Emery, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Ronna Rae (Robert) DeGraw, Las Vegas, NVDaughter: Gaylene DeAnn (Sid) Carlson, Shelley, IDSon: Garren Edward (Barbara) Durtschi, Richmond, VASister: Bertha (Knowlin R.) Hansen, Pocatello, IDSister: LaVerne Darrington, Burley, ID 44 Grandchildren and 63 Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, two grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Wednesday, October 3, 2001, at Idaho Falls Stake Center (1155 East 1st Street), with Bishop Larry F. Stucki of the Shelton LDS Ward officiating.
The family will meet with friends on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Wood Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
