Arline Mathilda Lake Dunlap, 83, of Garden Plain, Kansas, longtime former resident of Idaho Falls, passed away February 8, 2012, at Family Health & Rehabilitation Center in Wichita, Kansas. Arline was born September 26, 1928, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Earnest Lake and Violet Mathilda Petersen Lake. She grew up in Idaho Falls and attended schools here. She married William Dunlap in Idaho Falls and had one son. They later divorced. She worked as a waitress at Fred’s Café, then as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell until her retirement. She lived in Idaho Falls for 81 years and moved to Wichita, Kansas, two years ago to be near her son and his family. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Arline served in various capacities over the years, including Primary teacher, temple worker, and as an Extraction Missionary in Salt Lake City, Utah. Arline enjoyed collecting dolls and loved to watch “The Price Is Right” on television. In 1995, she was a contestant on “The Price Is Right” and won cash and prizes. Arline is survived by: Son: Mike (Tamara) Dunlap of Derby, KS; Sister: Anna Marie French of Idaho Falls, ID; Brother: Earnest Lake of Idaho Falls, ID; Grandson: Jared (Ashlee) Dunlap of Overland Park, KS; Grandson: Jason (Jamie) Dunlap of Wichita, KS; Grandson: Eric (Azalea) Dunlap of Chihuahua, Mexico. She has five Great-Grandchildren: Gideon, Ella, Fernanda, Gabriel and Keanu, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Violet Lake; three brothers, Arthur Lake, August Lake, and Ivan Lake; and sisters, Violet Lake, Merry Lake, and Otense Lake. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS Sage Lakes Ward, 3370 North 500 West, with Bishop Lee Radford officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday evening at Wood Funeral Home (273 North Ridge Avenue)and 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
