Arlene Bright Larsen, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 12, 2013, at her home at Lincoln Court Retirement Center.
Arlene was born February 24, 1929, in Winder, Idaho, to Charles Leland ”Jack” Bright and Sarah Elizabeth Kendall Bright. She attended primary school in Winder, and graduated from Preston High School.
On November 11, 1948, she married Jewel Birch Larsen in Winder, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple May 22, 1965. Arlene was a mother, homemaker, and a devoted grandmother. She worked as a clerk at Skyline Drug for several years.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as a visiting teacher, Stake Missionary, and Relief Society Secretary.
She enjoyed collecting stamps, coins and beautiful things. She loved to dance and watch old movies. She especially cherished the times spent watching her grandkids play sports.
Arlene is survived by
Son, J. Lynn Larsen of Idaho Falls ID;
Daughter, Ann (Mike) Williams of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son, W. Casey Larsen of Idaho Falls, ID;
Sister, Verla Harris of Ogden, UT;
Sister, Phyllis (Jim) Kimball of Bear Lake, ID;
6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jewel, a sister, Imogene, and a grandson, Adam.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2013, at the Idaho Falls LDS Mountain View Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Randall Wheeler officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
