Anthony Arthur-Manzanares

Anthony Martin Arthur-Manzanares, 56, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 22, 2023, after a long, well-fought battle with chronic heart conditions.

Anthony was born January 30, 1967, in Lander, Wyoming, to Arthur Joseph Manzanares and Doreen Kay Arthur. He grew up and attended schools in Wyoming. He also attended secondary schooling at ISU and CEI for Business Management.

On July 25, 1987, he married Laura Marie Baker in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Anthony and Laura made their home in Idaho Falls where Anthony owned a business in the landscaping industry over the years.

He was a member of Community Church of God in Christ. He enjoyed working in ministry and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

At the time of his death, he faithfully served as the Sr. Pastor of Community Church of God in Christ. Anthony, along with Laura, have a loving and welcoming home where they fostered over 17 children and three of whom they adopted.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Laura Manzanares of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters, Jessica (Jacob) Sonnenberg of SD, Alicia (Corey) Mangum of Pocatello ID, Tiana Colby of Pocatello ID, and Lakesha Iosua of UT; sons, Robert Clay of Idaho Falls ID, James (Naomi) Manzanares of IN, Marcus Clay of Idaho Falls ID, and Patrick Stevens of Idaho Falls ID; sister, Wanita (Refugio) Garza; brother, William (Elizabeth) Manzanares; and 25 grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doreen Arthur; father, Arthur Manazanares; and brother, Arthur Manzanares, Jr.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services, both visitations at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
