Annette Tromp

Annette M. Tromp, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2014, at Teton Post Acute Care & Rehabilitation surrounded by her children. Annette was born October 10, 1927, in Guitres, France, to Mayrus Mitling and Paulette Petit Mitling. In February 1941, she and her family escaped from Nazi occupied France to the United States. She grew up and attended schools in New Jersey and California, graduated from San Ramon Valley High School in California, and attended San Jose State University. On February 6, 1947, she married her first and only love, Robert Lewis Tromp in Reno, Nevada. To this union were born children: Peter Robert, Paul Lewis, Robert Mayrus, Dirck Emil, and Patrice. Annette and Robert made their home in Livermore CA, moving to Idaho Falls in 1958. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends, traveling, and telling memorable tales of her experiences under the German occupation of France and subsequent emigration to America. She volunteered for many years at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center taking photos of newborns and at the Red Cross Blood Bank. Annette is survived by son, Peter (Jan) Trump of Dubberly, LA son, Paul (Heather) Tromp of Corvallis, OR son, Robert M (Leanne) Tromp of Wethersfield, CT. son, Dirck (Anna) Tromp of Saudi Arabia her daughter, Patrice (David) Stonhill of Idaho Falls, ID and 19 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mayrus and Paulette, her husband, Robert, three sisters; France Achener, Daisy Williams, and Lillian Mitling, and her brother, Harold Mitling. A short service, memorial, and reception will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 in the gym of the First Presbyterian Church (325 Elm Street) at 6:30 PM.
