Kearney - 08/19/2001 ANNA KEARNEY IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Anna Violet Nielsen Kearney, 90, of Idaho Falls, died August 18, 2001, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center after suffering a stroke a week earlier. Ann was born June 6, 1911, at Iona, to John and Mary Jensen Nielsen. She grew up in Iona and attended school at the little country school house on the Ririe Highway and in Idaho Falls, where she graduated from high school. She married Glen Stanley Kearney September 16, 1931, in Iona. Ann was a homemaker and a wonderful mother. Glen passed away August 18, 1982. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was also a member of the Eagles and Elks Lodges. Ann enjoyed gardening, fishing, her grandchildren, and visiting daily on the phone with friends. In her younger years she enjoyed golf, traveling to Alaska to fish, and wintering in Arizona. She was the best woman, mother, and grandmother anyone could ever know and will be missed every day by her family. [Gail] Staples, Phoenix, AZ Heidi Kinney-Olachea, Phoenix, AZ Mike [Debbie] McCormick, Idaho Falls Molly [Dave] Giacomazzo, BoiseGreat Grandchildren: Shane Staples, Jr., Phoenix, AZ Austin Olachea, Phoenix, AZ Sierra Olachea, Phoenix, AZ Ryan McCormick, Idaho Falls Robbie McCormick, Idaho Falls Saria McCormick, Idaho Falls Amber Hoopes, Idaho Falls Amber Manzanares-Anderson, Sandy, UT Presley Giacomazzo, Boise, ID Adriano Giacomazzo, Boise, IDGreat Great Grandchild: Lexie Anderson, Sandy, UT She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters, Betty Gail Kearney and Linda Jean “Jeanne” Casper, five brothers and two sisters. Graveside Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2001, at the Iona Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Iona Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial donations to the charity of your choice that supports disabled children.
