Barbara "Ann" Campbell Stevens, age 74, died peacefully January 22, 2017, at Homestead Assisted Living in Rexburg, Idaho, after fighting with Alzheimer’s for seven years. Ann was born January 30, 1942, in Danville, Virginia. The greatest joy in Ann’s life was being a mother and grandmother. She fiercely loved her six children and 14 grandchildren. Before her illness, Ann was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and online shopping. She was an avid reader and was good with numbers. She enjoyed puzzles and loved having sleepovers and watching videos with her grandchildren. Ann was an example of love, caring, and kindness. She taught her children how to love, laugh and how to be spontaneous; especially when it came to runs to the midnight drive thru for a Frosty. She remained young at heart in every situation with her zeal for life and love of her family. Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathy Cox and her husband Paul, daughter, Diana Duran and husband Edward, son, Bart Stevens, son, Todd Stevens, and wife, JoAnn, daughter, Elizabeth Jones and husband David, and her grandchildren, Kinsey, Brianna, Zachary, Kumba (Nate), Morgan, Bockarie, David, Taylor, Kemuel, Quentin, Landyn, Braden, Malachi and Payton. Ann is preceded in death by her son, Christopher Stevens, her parents, Cleveland and Ruth Campbell, her brothers, Gene and Neil Campbell, and sister, Kay Crouse. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 27, 2017, at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 17151 Jones Maltsberger Road, San Antonio, TX 78247. A private graveside service will follow at Wetmore Cemetery. The family wishes to express its gratitude to Homestead Assisted Living in Rexburg, Idaho, and all those who cared for her, especially in the last six months of her life. We are comforted knowing that Ann Stevens knows who Ann Stevens is again.
