Ann Lynn Martin Barnett, 77, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply. She left this world as she lived her life, anchored in love, resilience, and devotion to those who meant everything to her.
Born on September 16, 1947, in Bozeman, Montana, to Lynn Merrel Martin and Janet Agnes Phillips Martin, Ann was raised amidst the rugged beauty of Montana, where her love for nature and adventure began. A graduate of Bozeman High School, she furthered her education at Montana State University, setting the stage for a life filled with learning, creativity, and grit.
In 1986, Ann married the love of her life, LeRoy Francis Barnett, in Elko, Nevada. Together, they built a life rooted in strength, humor, and steadfast love. From their early years in Burley and Rupert, Idaho, to their time in Winnemucca, Nevada (where Ann thrived as an accountant at a gold mine) their journey together was defined by resilience and partnership.
Ann embraced life's opportunities with a spirit of adventure. Her three seasons in Antarctica, totaling 18 months, reflected her fearless determination and willingness to step beyond the ordinary. Whether managing work orders at the bottom of the world or cultivating her stunning flower garden at home, Ann brought grace, care, and dedication to every endeavor. In 2018, Ann and LeRoy returned to Idaho Falls to be near their family, the true heartbeat of Ann's world. Her life was rich with the simple joys she loved--camping, fishing, hunting, skiing, and nurturing her garden. Her hands were rarely still, busy with knitting, cooking, or creating cherished memories with those she loved.
Ann shared an extraordinary bond with her daughters, Catherine Halverson and Deborah Ann Romero-Floyd, whose love and devotion mirrored the strength she always showed them. Deborah, by her side in her final years, offered unwavering support, ensuring Ann felt surrounded by love and care. Catherine carried with her the warmth of countless shared moments and laughter. Together, they filled Ann's life with love and comfort in every chapter. Ann's grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy and legacy. She was a guiding light to her great granddaughters, Jeslynn and Sophia, who often sought her wisdom and comfort. Her granddaughter, Alyssa, cherished countless conversations filled with encouragement and strength. She adored all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, including Jacoby Halverson, whose accomplishments brought her endless pride.
Ann's life was a reflection of love, resilience, and adventure. Her family will honor her legacy by moving forward with unity, courage, and the strength she instilled in them. She would want them to cherish one another, especially her beloved husband, LeRoy, whose partnership was the cornerstone of her life.
