ANDREW POLSON
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Andrew Michael Polson, 100, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 9, 2008, at his daughter’s home of causes incident to age.
He was born January 26, 1908, in Menan, Idaho, to George Polson and Emily Elsie Hansen Polson. He grew up and attended schools in Menan and graduated from Roberts High School.
On August 12, 1930, he married Altha Hain Olaveson in Idaho Falls. They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 25, 1952, and were later divorced. He then married Verla Sorenson in 1970, and they were later divorced. Andy believed in hard word and never slowed down. He worked as a salesman and rancher and retired in 1970, and would spend his summers as a park ranger at Flathead Lake in Montana and his winters in Arizona.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Andy enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing Bridge and Pinochle with his many friends at the Senior Citizens Center and the Eagles Lodge.
Andy always enjoyed being around his family. Family and friends from all around came to celebrate his 100th birthday with him in Idaho Falls. He always requested that everyone sing "God Bless America" because the song held so much meaning for him. He would often share stories of the many changes that he has experienced in his 100 years. His health and vigor amazed everyone that knew him. He lived life fully and enjoyed each moment visiting with family and friends, playing cards, and attending church.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the people at the Idaho Falls Senior Center and his good friend, Gene. Andy dearly loved his friends and time spent there. Dear Family:
It is unfortunate that Granddad will not be with us any longer. He will be missed.
If we are lucky he will take a moment or two away from his new pursuits in Heaven, making deals, searching the best fishing holes, and his card games – (with the beautiful lady angels)… to look down on us and maybe even visit us from time-to-time with his encouragement, guidance, and helpful advice. He accomplished much in this earth life for which I am sure he is proud, and for which he will always be remembered.
Again, in body he will be missed, but in the memory and heart of his family and friends, he will be ever present.
Michael

We wish to express our deepest sympathy to all the family. We loved Uncle Andy, and went to visit him every time we got close to Idaho. We always learned a lot from him, as he has been around for a long time. We will really miss him, as I'm sure you all will.
