Andrew Dunford Elison passed August 29th, 2011 of causes resulting from a fall on Memorial Day. He was born March 13th, 1956 to Lewis and Elaine (Dunford) Elison in Blackfoot, Idaho. The family moved to Price, Utah briefly, then moved back to Blackfoot to live in Grandpa Marvin Elison's house on Riverton Rd. A new house was built next door where Lewis and Elaine raised 6 children. They had a farm where Andy drove the tractor to haul hay and he also milked cows. He loved his mother very much and helped her with chores in the home. Andy was born fourth of six children. He attended schools in Blackfoot, Idaho, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1974. After high school he worked for Non-Pareil Potato Co. Then Andy served four years in the Navy from May 1976 to May 1980. Andrew met his wife to be, Delena Caudill, in December of 1981. They courted for a few months and married November 6th, 1982. He worked at State Hospital South and the South Park Group Home in Pocatello. In February of 1988 he was hired as a clerk in the Idaho Falls Post Office. He moved the whole family to Idaho Falls where Andy and Delena raised four children. He loved collecting postage stamps, camping, and family parties. He is survived by his father, Lewis C. (Dona Hall) Elison; his wife, Delena Caudill Elison; and his four children, Megan (C.J.) Dean, Andrew Nicholas(Nicole Turnbow) Elison, Whitney (Miles) Olsen, and Zachary Lewis Elison. He is also survived by his five siblings, Sandra (Doug) Nilsson, Mike (Marsha Perry)Elison, John (Sandy Robinson) Elison, Todd (Debra Ransom) Elison, and Mark (Rachel Lubbers) Elison. He had great love for family, especially the nieces, nephews, and grand kids. He has two grand children, Miley Belle Olsen and Weston Miles Olsen. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Dunford Elison, on June 9th, 2003. His friends, neighbors, and co-workers have been especially kind during this very hard summer. Also the Hospice of Eastern Idaho were very caring of Andy through his illness. And a special thanks to Nicole for her tender loving care of our sweet Andy. Memorial services and dinner are at 1120 Bear Ave, Idaho Falls, ID, Saturday September 3rd at 6:30 PM. Veterans rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard. Informal dress. No flowers or plants, please. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Eastern Idaho, 1810 Moran Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83401. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 963 S. Ammon Rd.
