Amber Tavia Poteat

Amber Tavia Poteat, 35, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 10, 2021, at her home. Amber was born April 23, 1986, in Orlando, Florida, to Dorna "Dutch" Haggerty Dixon. She grew up and attended schools in Florida until she was ten years old and moved to Idaho. Amber made her home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she worked as a jack of all trades. There was nothing she couldn’t do. Her passion was in culinary arts. Amber, first and foremost, was a mother. Her kids were everything to her. She enjoyed helping people and would put others needs before her own. Amber was spontaneous and loyal. She enjoyed road trips, pow wows, concerts, and rocking out to good music. Family was always a priority. Not only was she best friends with her sisters and mother but she was the middle puzzle piece that held them together. Through thick and thin, they had each others’ backs. Amber is survived by her mother, Dutch Dixon of Idaho Falls; father, Bill Dixon of Alabama; daughters, Makenna, Seneca, and Enavae; sister, Jovan Lewis of Pocatello; sister, Rena (Sarah Baccus) Dixon of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Scott Lewis of Idaho Falls, ID; and brother, Drey Fangsrud of N. Dakota. She had 1 niece, Brooklynn, and 3 nephews, Austin, Alex and Draiden. She has numerous cousins that were more like siblings, and aunts that were more like mothers. She was preceded in death by her cousin Jessica Harrison. A private family gathering will be held at a later time.
