Alvin Daniel Gosnell, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 23, 2026, at his home.

Alvin was born August 7, 1952, in San Fernando, California, to Daniel Ira Gosnell and Lavina Frances Walton Gosnell. He grew up and attended schools in California until the family moved to Idaho. He served in the United States Army as a Private First Class during the Vietnam Conflict.

On March 14, 1977, he married Debra Lyn Collins in Idaho Falls. They were blessed with four children, Kimberly, Brenda, Rory, and Stephanie. Alvin and Debra were later divorced.

He married Bonnie Jean Ashment on April 23, 1991, in Wendover, Nevada. Alvin and Bonnie made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho until Bonnie’s passing in 2011. Alvin worked as a mechanic, a security guard, and as a manager of a hotel and RV park.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and singing.

Alvin is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Morton of Idaho Falls; daughter, Brenda Gosnell of Idaho Falls; son, Rory Gosnell of Idaho Falls; daughter, Stephanie Tobias of Idaho Falls; stepsons, Jared Barber of Mud Lake, ID, Lance Barber of Blackfoot, ID, and Robert Eames of Logan, UT; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel “Ted” Gosnell; mother, Lavina “Viny” Gosnell; wife, Bonnie Gosnell; brother, Wesley Gosnell; brother, Raymond Gosnell; sister, Beulah “Boots” Wadel; and sister, Pauline.
