ALTON S. JACOBSON
REXBURG, ID - Alton Sylverous Jacobson, 91, of Irwin, died
August 4, 2003, at the Rexburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on April 3, 1912 at Idaho Falls to Leslie Leroy
Jacobson and Maude Melinda Oakden Jacobson. He was raised on a ranch in
Grand Valley until he was six. His family then moved to Swan Valley, where
they continued to ranch until he was 16. He attended Idaho Falls High School
from 1928 to 1931, by staying during the school year with his Uncle Phil
and Aunt Edith Oakden. He later moved back to Grand Valley.
On May 26, 1938, he married Lottie Fern Cleverly and their
marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on December 12, 1962.
Alton eventually took over the family ranch and ran it until 1955, when
the land was purchased for the Palisade Reservoir Project. He then moved
his family to a ranch in Swan Valley, where he lived until the time of his
death.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved
spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren; Tyler, Brad,
Nicolette, and Michaelen.

Sister: Bernice Hillman, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister-in-law: Ruth Jacobson, Irwin, ID
4 Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dorold Jacobson.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Friday, August 8,
2003, at the Palisades LDS Ward (Highway 26), with Bishop Blair Jacobson
officiating.
The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 7-8:30
p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and for one hour prior to the service
at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. on
Friday under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., Idaho
Falls, ID
