Alta Lenora Johnson, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 2, 2016, at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. Alta was born February 26, 1925, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Rudolph Olof Rytting and Phoebe Stone Rytting. She grew up and attended schools in Shelley and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She worked as a secretary for the Army at the Presidio Military Base in San Francisco before her mission. On February 10, 1956, she married Burton Eldon Johnson in the Idaho Falls, Idaho, LDS Temple. To this union were born six children, Trent, Troy, Breck, TeriLyn, Byron, and Aaron. Alta and Burton made their home in the Idaho Falls area. She worked in various secretarial and bookkeeping positions and helped on the family farm. She lived on the farm, but was a city girl at heart. Burton passed away November 2, 2012. Alta was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Relief Society President at both the Stake and Ward levels. She served a mission in the Canada Western Mission. Alta was a Red Cross Volunteer. She enjoyed piano, gardening, and especially her grandchildren. Alta is survived by her daughter, TeriLyn Goldman of Idaho Falls, ID; five sons, Trent (Kelley) Johnson of Millville, UT; Troy (Laurie) Johnson of Rigby, ID; Breck (Lynette) Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; Byron Johnson of Ammon, ID; and Aaron (Sarah) Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Douglas (Sharon) Rytting of Reno, NV; sister, Donna Robinson of Ucon, ID; 27 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Sandra Park; brother, Ralph Rytting; one grandson; and two great granddaughters. Alta’s children wish to thank the Good Samaritan Center for their superb care. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016, at the Ucon LDS Chapel, 10854 North 41 East, with Bishop Allen Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.

11 a.m. ,Friday, April 8, 2016 Ucon LDS Church 2967 East 105 North Ucon, ID 83454 Notes: The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
