ALTA P. HANSEN
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Alta Pearl Peterson Hansen, 91, of
Iona, died August 9, 2004, at the home of her son in Iona.
She was born October 1, 1912, at Garfield, Idaho, to
Alma Joseph Peterson and Mable Jeffs Peterson. She grew up and attended
schools in the area.
On January 30, 1931, she married Douglas Hansen at Garfield,
Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized February 25, 1939, in the Logan,
Utah, LDS Temple. She owned Doug's Café in Iona and also worked
in the seedhouse for Roger Brothers and as a bookkeeper for the Iona lunch
program.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, traveling camping, and baking
pies. Following her retirement, she loved spending summers at Palisades
and winters in California.

Son: Quade (LeaRae) Hansen, Orem, UT
Daughter: Tonja Hansen (Norman) Ellis, Idaho Falls, ID
Sister: Faye Williams, OR
12 Grandchildren and 34 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Tamara Osenbaugh;
six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August
12, 2004, at the Iona LDS Ward Building (5169 E. Denning), with Bishop
Geoffrey Thomas of the Iona LDS 5th Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends Thursday for one hour
prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Iona Cemetery under the direction of
Wood Funeral Home East Side.
