Allen Wade Hansen Sr., 57, of Iona, Idaho, passed away September 4, 2016, in Gilmore, Idaho. He was born December 21, 1958, at the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Deverl Andrew Hansen and Reva Iola Russell Hansen. He grew up in Idaho Falls where he met the love of his life, Pamela Sue Smith. They married December 21, 1976 in Shelley, Idaho and were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on February 14, 1978. Allen was a Jack of all trades. At a young age he learned the trades of farming, well drilling and masonry with his father. After marriage, he learned the skill of carpentry through his father-in-law, George William Smith. Allen and Pam lived in Oregon and Montana until June of 1984, when they returned to Idaho Falls. He was hired by the City of Idaho Falls Maintenance Department as a Mason, where he later earned his HVAC license and honed his welding skills. He finished his career with Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis (CBRE) as a lead technician. He was a proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Sunday School, scouting program, nursery, and as Ward Building Representative. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for Bonneville County for many years. Allen was extremely talented and enjoyed creating and designing. He especially loved his family and spending time with them. Allen is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pamela Sue Hansen. His legacy includes five children and their spouses: Audrey (Jared) Smith, Sabrina (Tyson) Walker, Allen Jr. (Sarah) Hansen, Shaleen (David) Alvarez, Adam Hansen and 20 grandchildren (WOW!). He is also survived by his siblings: Vada De Ann (Duane) Taylor, Ronald Wayne (Lora) Hansen, Douglas Deverl (Rosanne) Hansen, Reva Yvonne (Rick) ) Oelschlager, Brenda Jolene (Kent) Costley, Brian Clay (Marie) Hansen, and Rhonda LaDawn Hansen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Deverl and Reva Hansen and his oldest sister, Neta Davis. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016, at the Iona LDS Stake Center, 7555 North 55th East, with Bishop Lynn Rockwood of the Iona 5th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Wilford Cemetery.
