Allen David

Allen Edward David, 85, of Bassett Siding (Roberts) Idaho, went home to our Lord on January 10, 2017, at The Gables of Ammon in Ammon, Idaho. Allen was born November 12, 1931, at home in Roberts, Idaho, the son of Theodore Roosevelt David and Alice Caroline Adams David, the 5th child born in a family of twelve. Allen was never married, had no children, and was preceded in death by both parents, four brothers Harold, an unnamed infant, Martin and Keith. Allen attended school in Roberts all twelve years, graduating in 1950. He served in Company A, 116th Engineer Combat Battalion of the Idaho National Guard. Honorably discharged in November 1949. Allen worked for several local farmers around Roberts. He worked in grocery stores in Los Angeles and on the border of Arizona. While he was in Arizona, he also taught ballroom dancing for Arthur Murray Studios. After returning to Idaho Falls, he worked on farm equipment for several large companies. The family would like to give special thanks to the many family, friends, Aspen Hospice, specifically Nurse Monica, and The Gables of Ammon for their many hours of care and countless hours of support to Allen and family over the last few years. He is survived by siblings, Dale (Louise Maple Valley, Washington; Ralph David of New Sweden, Idaho; K. Don (LaDene) David of Las Vegas, Nevada; Betty Kelly of Buckeye, Arizona; Ines (P. Kenneth) Garz) David of Squirrel, Idaho; June David of Boise, Idaho and Delmar (Noris) David of Fayetteville, Georgia. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Deacon Wence officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Allen's memory through Wood Funeral Home. All proceeds will go towards Roberts Adams Cemetery in Roberts, Idaho.
