Alicia Kay Jones Palmer

Alicia Kay Jones Palmer, 43, of Shelley, passed away June 20, 2026, at her home following a lengthy battle with her health. Despite her health struggles, Alicia was generous, kind of heart and spirit, fun-loving, and loved and remembered by those she knew.

Alicia was born January 18, 1983, in Denver, Colorado, to Douglas Dean Jones and Lisa Kay Meyer-Jones. She grew up and attended schools in both Broomfield and Arvada Colorado. She graduated from Faith Christian Academy. Alicia earned her BA from the University of Colorado, Denver. Alicia continued her education earning a Master's of education from Liberty University.

On December 20, 2004, she married Clayton Thomas Palmer, in Phoenix, Arizona. Alicia and Clayton made their home in Shelley, Idaho, where Alicia was a mother and homemaker.

She was a member of Henrietta #21 OES. She was baptized as a child in the Methodist Church, but also attended Watersprings and First Evangelical Lutheran Church during her time in Idaho. She enjoyed time with family, friends, and everyone she met along the way, as well as watching I Love Lucy and multiple true crime shows.

Alicia was generous, kind of heart and spirit, and a fun-loving person who will be loved and remembered by those she met.

Alicia is survived by her husband, Clayton T. Palmer of Shelley, ID; father, Douglas D. Jones of Shelley, ID; mother, Lisa K. Meyer-Jones of Shelley, ID; children, Isaiah T. Palmer and Gabriella K. Palmer of Shelley, ID; brother, Joshua (Lynn) Jones of Everett, WA; and sister, Amanda (Nick) Bass of Eudora, KS.

Alicia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Willis A. Meyer, Donna J. Meyer, Gerald D. Jones, and Joyce E. Jones.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 2651 Cromwell Lane, Blackfoot, Idaho 83221, with Reverend Mike Knauff officiating. The family will visit with friends from 8:30-9:15 a.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road.
