IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Alice Isabel Hetty Stoddard, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 2, 2008, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born March 14, 1925, in New-Malden, Surrey, England, to Wilford White and Isabel Mackay. She attended schools and resided in England for 22 years.
She married Thomas William "Billy" Stoddard on November 4, 1945, in England. They made their home in Island Park, where the family ran the Stoddard Lumber Mill. Billy preceded her in death, October 3, 1956. Alice and her children moved to Sugar City for three years. They then settled in Idaho Falls, where she worked as a nurse, and later as a dental assistant and her children attended school.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She belonged to the Daughters of the British Empire.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Marsha Lee Stoddard Rice, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Raymond W. Stoddard, Idaho Falls, ID
Son: Phillip Kip Stoddard, Idaho Falls, ID
6 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy; sister, Marion Anderson; and Great Granddaughter, Jode Ann Branson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., with Jason Skillings of the Idaho Falls LDS 24th Ward Bishopric officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services, both at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
