Alice M. Ostler - 01/19/2003 Alice M. Ostler - 01/19/2003 ALICE M. OSTLER IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Alice Marie Eacker Rumsey Ostler, 97, of Idaho Falls, died January 18, 2003, at Life Care Center of causes incident to age. She was born August 12, 1905, in Dickinson, North Dakota, to Myron C. Eacker and Emma Wagner Eacker. The family moved to Parma, Idaho, when she was three months old. Later they moved to Boise and she attended schools in the Boise area, graduating from Boise High School. After graduation she worked for Mountain Bell Telegraph & Telephone Company. She married Earl John Rumsey December 23, 1923, in Boise. They moved to St. Anthony in 1924 and then to Egin Bench, where she was a homemaker and mother and they operated a grocery store. They moved back to St. Anthony before moving to Idaho Falls, where she has lived for 47 years. Earl passed away June 15, 1957. On January 30, 1966, she married George Lloyd Ostler in Elko, Nevada. George passed away August 30, 1991. She enjoyed her family, cooking, gardening, flowers, and reading. Her pride and joy in life was her family; she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will truly be missed. Surviving are:Daughter: Betty [Lee] Hansen, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Colleen [Clayton] Rudd, Boise, IDSon: Richard [Jean] Rumsey, Williamsburg, VABrother: Ray [Mina] Eacker, Caldwell, IDStepson: Paul [Katie] Ostler, Idaho Falls, IDStepson: Max [Naundus] Ostler, Idaho Falls, ID 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sisters, and two brothers. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2003, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Reverend Dr. Dennis Falasco of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wilford Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made in her name to First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83402.
