Alice Ohngren

Verna Alice Nelson Ohngren, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 27, 2013, at her home. She was born June 11, 1926, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Herbert Bertrand Nelson and Esther Leola Arnold Nelson. She grew up in that area and attended Pontiac High School. She moved to Van Nuys, California, where she lived for 40 years, before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, for 21 years. In 2012, she moved to Idaho Falls. On December 7, 1946, she married Leslie Eugene Ohngren in Clarkston, Michigan. They were later divorced. Alice was a mother and homemaker and also worked as a bookkeeper for the 31st District PTA in Van Nuys, California. She enjoyed ceramics, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and painting. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors are: Daughter: Kathleen (Burton) Conrad of Orem, UT Son: Stephan (Leslie) Ohngren of Ucon, ID 8 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marie Rexford.
