Alice Marie (Angell) Dennert, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 5, 2026, of age-related natural causes, surrounded by family at MorningStar Senior Living.
Alice was born on November 14, 1938, to Richard Bell Angell and Eleanor Daisy (Pritchard) Angell in Los Angeles, CA. She grew up in Los Angeles and Glendale, CA, with her younger brother, Richard Jr., and attended John Marshall High School.
She married William Edward Dennert on June 10, 1961, in the Los Angeles Temple. They lived in Culver City and Simi Valley, CA, where they had six sons. In 1978, they moved to Idaho Falls, ID, where they lived the rest of their lives. Ed unexpectedly passed away from leukemia on May 25, 1987, leaving Alice with two sons on missions and four still at home. With faith, she rose to the challenge. She worked as a teacher's aide and a lunch lady at Westside Elementary School so she could have the same days off to raise her boys. She was loving but strict and made her home welcome to all the neighborhood kids who called her the "Kool-Aid Mom." Later, one of the neighbor kids dubbed her "Iron Alice." When she found out, she was not offended but rather proud of the nickname.
From the time she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at age 12, along with her family, she was a devoted member of The Church and served faithfully in many callings, from Primary teacher to Relief Society president to Cub Scout den mother.
Alice is preceded in death by both her parents; husband; as well as her brother, Richard Angell Jr.; grandson, Tyson Dennert; and stillborn granddaughters, Heather and Alexandra Dennert.
She is survived by her sons: Cory Dennert, Barry (Lori) Dennert, Wiley (Heidi) Dennert, Kirby (Aurore) Dennert, Casey (Rebecca) Dennert, and Clay (Caprice) Dennert, all of Idaho Falls, ID; as well as 26 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Eagle Rock Stake Center, 2020 Charlotte Drive. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
