Alice Anne Harker Christensen, 81, of Shelley, passed away on October 9, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 26, 1935, in Shelley, Idaho to Leslie Harker and Lettie Oles Saunders Harker. She grew up and attended schools in Jameston, graduating from Shelley High Schools. She then attended Ricks College where she received an Associate Degree.
On July 1, 1955, she married Ivan Wayne Christensen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Alice and Wayne made their home in Shelley where they raised their four children. Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She also was a hairdresser. Wayne preceded her in death on October 8, 2016.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Alice enjoyed gardening, sewing, designing cakes, traveling, camping, fishing, and loved the outdoors.
Alice is survived by son, Duane (Jan) Christensen of Garland, UT; son, Dennis (Penny) Christensen of Shelley, ID; daughter, Debra (Ed) Hammond of Rigby, ID; daughter, Darlene (John) Hartley of American Falls, ID; sister, Caroleen (Herbert) Andrews of Lava, ID; sister, Berniece Wing of Bountiful, UT; sister, Karen (Bob) Beck of Shelley, ID; brother, Ferrin (Wanda) Harker of Salt Lake City, UT; sister, Thelma (Ronald) Womack of Franklin, ID; sister, Ruth (Terry) Reid of St. George, UT; sister, Emily (Ahmad) Paksima of San Diego, CA; sister, Martha (Craig) Malcom of St. George, UT; brother, Mark (Suzanne) Harker of Melba, ID; brother, Merritt (Cyndy) Harker of Nampa, ID; sister, Vaunda Colgrove of Shelley, ID, 19 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Darlene Harker; and two brothers-in-law, Jim Colgrove and Marlin Wing.
Funeral services for Alice Anne and her husband, Ivan Wayne, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Shelley LDS Jameston Ward, 1101 East 1250 North, with Bishop Allen officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Avenue) and Thursday from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
