Alfred Edward Fry, 84, of Ammon, passed away February 14, 2012, at Bonaventure Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Alfred was born October 2, 1927, in Malad City, Idaho, to William James Fry and Violet Marie Hedstrom Fry. He grew up on the family farm and attended schools in Daniels, Idaho. He moved to Idaho Falls in 1947.
Alfred married Joan Brammer on June 5, 1952, in Idaho Falls, and they had six children. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1964. He worked in the seed and feed business and for Clyde Hess Distributing for several years, then worked at the Idaho National Laboratory as a pipefitter until he retired in 1991. Alfred had a strong work ethic and he took pride in being honest with everyone.
Alfred enjoyed spending time with his family and he attended his children and grandchildren’s activities whenever he could. He also enjoyed reading, walking, exercising , spending time at Lava Hot Springs and traveling until his health would no longer allow it. He enjoyed taking care of everything he owned; his house, yard and cars were always kept in exceptional condition. Alfred made a lot of lifelong friends through the community and his work.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although he was not a church going man, he loved people and enjoyed having visitors from the church.

Son: Don (Heide) Fry of Nampa, ID;
Daughter: Kathie (Joe) Lindberg of Idaho Falls, ID,
Daughter: Christine (Dane) Weber of Idaho Falls, ID;
Sister, Betty Higdon of Riverside, CA;
15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Cecil and John Fry, a sister, Evelyn Jones and a granddaughter, Melissa Fry.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Ammon LDS 26th Ward, 1100 South Tiebreaker, with Bishop Rodney Roberts officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Rigby-Pioneer Cemetery.
