Alexander Simon Cobar

It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Alexander Simon Cobar on August 19, 2024. Known affectionately as “Lecky” by his loved ones, Alex was gently called back home to his Heavenly Father, in his sleep, leaving behind a legacy of joy and love in his short but beautiful life.

Born on October 25, 2022, in Idaho, to Ryan Alexander Cobar and Kerry Ann Cobar. Alex weighed a healthy 9lbs 7oz. There was so much of him to love from the very beginning! He was the light of his family's life, especially cherished by his parents and his adoring big sisters, Emma and Rosie. Alex brought endless happiness into their home, with his infectious laughter and playful spirit.

Alex was a little explorer, captivated by the simplest things– opening and closing doors, splashing in water, and his favorite, raiding the kitchen cupboards. He found endless delight in the world around him, particularly in playing chase with his sisters, blowing kisses, and pushing buttons, especially on the sound system. He delighted in how pushing Daddy’s buttons would often lead to a joyful game of chase, followed by tickles, kisses, and laughter– always laughter. His bond with his father was special as Ryan always knew how to make Alex’s face light up with joy.

Alex was a sensitive and sweet soul, always seeking comfort in his mother’s embrace whenever he felt sad or overwhelmed. Whether it was the frustration of a toy being taken away or the sting of being told “no,” Alex's tender heart knew where to find solace and love. His mother’s arms were his refuge, a place where he always felt safe and cherished.

Alex loved mangoes, strawberries, and blueberries, and he never missed an opportunity to enjoy his favorite treats. Though his time with us was brief, Alex knew only love and happiness, leaving us with memories that will forever be cherished.

Alex is survived by his loving parents, Ryan and Kerry, and his big sisters, Emma and Rosie. He was predeceased by and is now reunited with his Grandfather Augustine, his Bisabuelo Ricardo, and many great aunts and uncles who have welcomed him home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 30, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12127 N. 75th E., Idaho Falls, ID 83401. In honor of Alex's bright and joyful spirit, we kindly request that attendees refrain from wearing black as we come together to celebrate his beautiful life.

For those who wish to support the Cobar family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help ease the unexpected financial burden. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support from friends and family around the world.
