Alec Bryan Borrowman-Nelson, 23, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 13, 2013, surrounded by his family, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, from complications of a stroke he suffered last year. He is loved beyond measure and missed deeply.
Born October 31, 1989, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Darcy Borrowman, and instantly captured the hearts of all who welcomed him.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he grew to be an adventurous young man with a wicked sense of humor. He graduated from Mariner High School in Everett, Washington, in 2008, and enjoyed working in resort restaurants such as West Thumb in Yellowstone National Park and Flag Ranch in Wyoming. Ten months prior to his death, Alec, who suffered from Type 1 Diabetes, suffered a stroke that left him partially paralyzed. He was making great strides in his recovery and was looking forward to gaining more independence, running, and playing his guitar, when the brain damage from the stroke caused seizures that he could not recover from. He fought bravely and with more courage than is typical for one so young.
