A. DEAN BOWLES RIGBY, ID -- Alden Dean Bowles, 79, of Rigby, passed away February 16, 2008, at his daughter's home of causes incident to age. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. He was born March 15, 1928, in Milo, Idaho, to Earnest Richard Bowles and Clarissa Elizabeth Hancock Bowles. He grew up in Milo and attended school in Ucon. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He married Virginia Crow in early 1947. They were the parents of six children and later divorced. He married Betty Joan Williams March 27, 1969, in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He worked at the sugar factory and was self-employed as a grain and seed cleaner. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served as Ward Clerk, Sunday School President, and in many other callings over the years. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, music, history, and being politically active. Survivors include: Son: Deward Bowles of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Aaron Bowles of Barstow, CA Daughter: Sheila Schuetz of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Pamela Burt of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Tressa Turrinetti of NC Daughter: Karyn Crow of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Scot Bowles of Wilsonville, OR Daughter: Andrea Johnson of Windsor, CO Daughter: Laurie Little of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory Daughter: Deana Brower of Idaho Falls, ID Stepdaughter: Susan Coles of Henderson, NV Stepson: Mike Watson of Santa Maria, CA Stepdaughter: Wendy Watson of Idaho Falls, ID Brother: George Bowles of Bancroft, ID Sister: Florence Moore of Rigby, ID Sister: Ellen Killian of Phoenix, AZ Sister: Eva Eldridge of Salt Lake City, UT; 47 Grandchildren & many Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Bowles, a stepdaughter, Karen Forbush, and four siblings. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008, at the Milo LDS 2nd Ward, 12127 North 75 East, with Bishop Bryan Cook officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
