Bert Fladeland

Alberta Marie “Bert” Simpson Fladeland, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed peacefully on September 15, 2025.

Mom was born on August 12,1935, in Ronan, Montana, to Harvey and Alice Welchman Simpson. We just celebrated her 90th birthday.

Mom attended school in Dillon, Montana, graduating in 1955. Mom met Edward Lee Fladeland in Armstead, Montana, and they dated from 1955-1957. They were married on January 26, 1957, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They decided to make their home in Idaho Falls. Mom was a stay at home mother of four children.

Mom loved camping and tending to her beautiful flowers in the yard and gardening. She hosted and played pinochle for many years with a group of very dear friends.

Mom was able to stay in her home, which was very important to her. Brio Hospice, son, Gerald, and granddaughters, Angela and Natalie, made this possible. They did an amazing job.

Survivors include son, Gerald Fladeland of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Deb (Kevin) Hulse of Rigby, ID, daughter, Laurie (Blair) White of Nampa, ID, daughter, Colleen (Bob) Wheeler of Rigby, ID; sister, Carolyn (Ben) Patterson; brother-in-law, Leo Rawson; and 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Fladeland; parents, Harvey and Alice Simpson; sisters, Dorothy Rawson and Lorna McNee; brother-in-law, Richard McNee; grandson, Justin Hugh Lee Wheeler; and granddaughter, Jo Lynn Sherwood.
