ALBERT KUMP IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Albert O’Donnell Kump, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 2, 2005, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Albert was born May 10, 1917, in Lund, Nevada, to Jacob Kump and Catherine O’Donnell Kump. He grew up and attended schools in Nevada. He served his country in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II from 1942-45. Albert married Dorel Greenhalgh December 28, 1944, at Santaquin, Utah, after a whirlwind two-week romance. This marriage of sweethearts has endured over 60 years and was solemnized January 2, 1952, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They made their home in Salt Lake City for five years, Jerome, Idaho, for 43 years, and moved to Idaho Falls 13 years ago. He co-owned Custom Floors of Idaho in Twin Falls and worked as a floor covering specialist until his retirement in 1981. Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various positions over the years, including 25 years of service to the Boy Scouts of America. He and Dorel served a full-time mission to Palmyra, New York, from 1986-87. He enjoyed woodworking, plastic art (his knitting), gardening, and being a loving, devoted, doting husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving are: His Wife: Dorel Kump of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Laurine (Lynn) McCord of Idaho Falls, ID Son: Norman (Beverly) Kump of St. George, UT Son: Alan (Katie) Kump of Moscow, ID Son: Douglas (Cathleen) Kump of Genessee, ID Daughter: LoAnn (Richard) Burge of Lyman, WY Brother: Jay Kump of Elko, NV Brother: Glen Kump of Riverton, UT Sister: Donna Baum of Riverton, UT Sister: Juanita Burton of Salt Lake City, UT Sister: Vilate Silver of Roy, UT 20 Grandchildren & 30 Great Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, VerNae Perme, three brothers, Elwin Kump, Arlo Kump, Jesse Kump, a sister, Myrtle Fraughton, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Burge. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at the Idaho Falls LDS Central Stake Center, 2025 Jennie Lee Drive, with Bishop Nathan Smith of the 3rd Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Tuesday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team.
