Albert D Herrin, 95, of Salmon, Idaho, passed away June 15, 2012, at the Discovery Care Centre in Salmon, of natural causes.
Albert was born March 24, 1917, in Ruth, Kentucky, to Robert Andy Herrin and Mary Elizabeth Bray Herrin. He grew up and attended schools in Kentucky. He joined the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) in Kentucky and was stationed in Moscow, Idaho, where he met and married Norma Uhlenbusch. Albert and Norma returned to Kentucky, where their daughter, Jacqueline, was born. Norma and Albert were later divorced.
Over the coarse of his life, Albert was a hard worker and worked at a variety of occupations. He was a farmer and grew tobacco, owned a taxi service in Somerset, Kentucky, drove truck and did soil conservation work for the CCC, worked at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, drove the mail route in the Pahsimeroi Valley, operated the Mountain View Café in May, Idaho, managed the mill at the Ima Mine in Patterson, Idaho, was proprietor of Herrin's Café in May, Idaho, and worked at the Fish Hatchery on the Pahsimeroi River.
He was baptized in the Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and the Woodsman Club. Albert enjoyed working, hunting, and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters, and brothers.

Nieces and Nephews, Vivian Robison, Donald Ray Herrin, Colleen Smith, Golden Herrin, Wendell Ray Herrin, Sue Herrin, George Allen "G.A." Herrin, Janis Halley, Hollis (Sonny) Herrin, Sissy Hahn, Patty Litton, Linda Martiny, Peggy Martiny, George Santee, Jim Martiny, and Ginny Martiny.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 505 Hope Avenue, Salmon, with Father Paul Wander officiating. There will be a visitation for family and friends from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Salmon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lemhi County Animal Shelter.
