Albert Call

Albert Lyle Call, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away on 30 January, 2019, at Promontory Point Rehabilitation Center in Idaho Falls, under hospice care.

Lyle was born on 20 June, 1931, in Grant, ID, to Jesse and Eva Call. He was the oldest of 5 brothers. He grew up and attended schools in Rigby.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Lyle served in the Army National Guard 116th Engineer Battalion during the Korean War.

On 15 June, 1949, he married Mary Lou Nanney in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Rigby.

Lyle and Mary Lou had six children while he farmed in the Clark area east of Rigby.

In 1972, Lyle moved his family to Idaho Falls and went to work selling cars for Imperial Motors and then Ellsworth Dodge. Later, Lyle and his brother Wayne founded Colonial Auto Sales in Idaho Falls. He also received his pilots license. Mary Lou passed away in 1991.

Lyle enjoyed the commotion of the used car industry and proved to be very successful, while spreading hospitality and goodwill towards everyone who knew him throughout his career.

Lyle married Janet Pelot Crawford on 28 December, 1996. After retiring from the dealership he and Jan spent their summers in Idaho Falls and wintered in Mesa, AZ. They enjoyed their pets, travel, bowling, golf and their family and friends.

Lyle is survived by his wife Janet of Idaho Falls; brothers, Wayne (Mary) of Rigby, Verle (Glora) of Washington State, Neil (Julie) of Rexburg and Eugene Call; son, Jerry Call of Rigby; daughters, Darla (Gary) Hill of Pocatello, Starla (John) Davis of AZ, Gay (Golden) Gallup of Ririe, Joy (Ed) Taylor and Laralee (Shaun) Ker, both of Idaho Falls; stepchildren, Hillary Crawford (Todd Mitchell), Melissa (Dennis) Vance and Mariah (Rick) Parks. He had 18 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lou; and 3 grandchildren, Teena Call, Tara Brown and Jeffrey Davis.

The family would like to thank Hands of Hope and Promontory Point Rehabilitation, Hospice of Eastern Idaho and all those who provided so much loving care. A memorial gathering will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. Urn burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Rigby Pioneer Cemetery.
