Alan K. Park, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 29, 2015, at his home. He was under the care of Encompass Hospice.

Alan was born October 29, 1931, in Ririe, Idaho, to Vernal George Park and Mary Theo Dutson Park. He grew up and attended schools in Ririe and attended Rigby High School. He served in the United States Army.

On June 10, 1953, he married Edith Mae Cazier in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born six children, Gregg, Gary, Brian, Brad, Becky, and Gayle. Alan and Edith lived in St. Anthony for two years, and Iona for seven before making their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Alan worked as a farm hand, a service station mechanic, and a quality engineer for the Atomic Energy Commission.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and jigsaw puzzles.

Alan is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Edith Park of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Gregg Alan (Marilee) Park of Pocatello, ID; son, Gary C. Park of Cedar Rapids, IA; son, Brian K (Gail) Park of Shelley, ID; son, Brad L (Cheryl) Park of Walla Walla, WA; daughter, Becky Marie Park of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Gayle Michelle Gines of Idaho Falls, ID; brothers, Norman (Carol) Park and Ralph Park; sister, Laree Rainey of Idaho Falls, ID; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS 9th Ward, 395 Second Street, with Bishop David Gemar officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Wilford Cemetery.

Military Rites will be performed by the Fremont County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
