Alan Joseph Charles Parker

Alan Joseph Charles Parker passed peacefully in his sleep and joined his heavenly family on July 3, 2022. He was 64 and had been valiantly fighting cancer for 10 years.

Alan was born on November 22, 1957, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Floyd R Parker and Thelma S Parker. Both parents preceded him in death.

He lived in the same family home in St. Anthony for his entire life, but was well cared for by the great staff at Homestead and his compassionate nurse, Kennedy, in St. Anthony during the last few weeks.

In Alan's early years, he loved drawing and painting landscapes, and has always had a love for his cars.

Alan was a valued member of the Upper Valley Bible Church for many years where he was in charge of planning, playing, and singing the music. Although Alan did not read music, he could play almost any music he heard by ear. He was able to sing with or without accompaniment and even composed songs. Alan loved his church family dearly. Alan also loved entertaining his friends at the St. Anthony Seniors Center. He would often lead them in the Pledge of Allegiance and the prayer before the meal at lunchtime.

Alan never met a stranger. He loved people and talking to everyone he met. He loved going to Montana to visit his family there and just spending time enjoying the beauty. Alan had so many wonderful friends that it would be difficult to count them. However, his Pastor, brother, friend of 30 years, Chris Isaacs, has been there for him every step of the way.

Alan is survived by his only sibling, Lynda Holt of Montana; nephew, Leo Garcia; and nieces, Rosie Garcia and Maria Garcia; grand nephews, Luke, Canyon, Carter, and Layten; grandniece, Myrah, all of Montana; and of course, his faithful steed for 35 years, his 1971 Olds Cutlass, Jenny.

Thank you all for being a part of his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. July 30, 2022, at the Upper Valley Bible Church, 825 West 4th North, in St. Anthony, Idaho.
