Click Here To View Memorial Video Alan Edgel Barber, 62, of Idaho Falls, passed away on August 18, 2015, at his home. Alan was born July 20, 1953, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Myron Barber and Clytie Edgel Barber. He grew up and attended schools in Monticello, Utah, where he graduated from Monticello High School. He attended the College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah, and later the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he received his Juris Doctor. On August 20, 1976, he married Marilyn Barber in the Mesa, Arizona, LDS Temple. They were later divorced. In 2012, he married Debbie B. Oliver in Vernal, Utah. He was an attorney and later enjoyed being self-employed as a bookstore owner. He and Debbie separated in 2015 and he returned to Idaho Falls at that time. Alan loved books and enjoyed watching soccer. He also had a love of music and was an accomplished musician. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full-time LDS Mission in Mexico in his youth. Survivors are: Wife: Debbie Oliver of Vernal, UT; Son: Brittain Barber of Seattle, WA; Daughter: Elizabeth Barber of Boise, ID; Son: Alan Barber of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Michael Barber of Idaho Falls, ID; Son: Morgan Barber of Boise, ID; Brother: David Barber of St. George, UT; Brother: Gary Barber of Salt Lake City, UT and 6 Grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2015, at the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff Ward Building, 1660 12th Street, with Bishop Ken Bateman officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.

11:00 a.m. ,Saturday, August 22, 2015 Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff Ward Building 1660 12th Street Idaho Falls, ID, Bonneville 83404 Notes: The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
