ADRIA MECHAM Click here to view a video of Adria's life IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Adria LaRue Hansen Mecham, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 20, 2008, at her home. She was under the care of her family and Hospice of Eastern Idaho. She was born April 28, 1925, at Glencoe (Mink Creek), Idaho, to Neils Wilford Hansen and Tora Virgia Wilde Hansen. She grew up and attended schools in the area. Later in life, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. On June 7, 1941, she married Clifford Mecham in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on January 6, 1943. She was a mother and homemaker and worked as a LPN, a job she loved immensely. She was president of the local Practical Nurses Association for one year. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she had a strong testimony and served faithfully in every auxiliary in the church. She also served a stake mission with her husband and loved doing genealogy and temple work. Adria especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were all recipients of her beautiful handwork. Survivors include: Daughter: Tora Mae (Jay) Gatten, Kaysville, UT Son: Delwin Clifford (Linda) Mecham, Las Vegas, NV Daughter: Nyla Jean Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: John C. Hansen, Preston, ID Sister: Vinora Dursteler, Preston, ID Sister: Ane Ora Nielson, Preston, ID 14 Grandchildren & 23 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Shauna Lee; a brother, Hugh Hansen; and a sister, MarDene Sparrow. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the Idaho Falls LDS 2nd Ward, 885 South Boulevard, with Bishop Peter Demitropoulos officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
