Biography

Adele Furia Clarke, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 23, 2011, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. Adele was born July 22, 1929, in Campobasso, Italy, to Vincenzo Furia and Maria Lerice Furia. She grew up and attended school in Campobasso and Naples, Italy. At age 16, Adele became a “war bride” when she married. She later lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Providence, Rhode Island, before moving to Idaho Falls in 1980. On November 19, 1945, she married William John Clarke in Naples, Italy. Together they had three children. William passed away on June 24, 2004. Adele was a mother and homemaker. She also worked in retail sales, food service, and as a secretary for Bonneville County. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Adele loved cooking, bowling, bingo, traveling to Italy, and chatting with friends and family on the phone. Survivors include her sons, George (Kathleen) Clarke of Idaho Falls, ID; and Robert (Dianne) Clarke of Belleville, IL; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Adriana Furia of Naples, Italy; two nephews; and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant daughter, Annie Clarke; her brothers, Ennio Furia and Ugo Furia; and her sister, Amalia Cattarinich. The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center, the staff at WalMart Pharmacy, and her doctors and their staff for their kind care. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, corner of 9th and Lee. On Friday the Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a visitation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
