Adela Galindo Nanez, 70, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 13, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 20, 1942, in Mercedes, Texas, to Lazaro Sanchez and Gabriela Galindo Sanchez.
Adela married Daniel F. Nanez in August, 1957, and they were later divorced. She moved to Idaho Falls in 1969 from Billings, Montana. She was a homemaker and mother.
Adela loved watching old movies, listening to music and going for long drives. She loved to pull toes and was well known for making the best tortillas. She gave everyone a nickname. She also liked to dance in her younger years.
Adela is survived by her children,
Daughter, Lucinda Ann Nanez of Atlanta, GA;
Daughter, Modesta Castro of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son, Daniel Galindo Nanez of Lebanon, TN;
Sister, Jane Williams of Atlanta, GA;
Sister, Fidela Sanchez of Idaho Falls, ID;
10 Grandchildren and 23 Great Grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Lazara Rivera, Maria Balderas, and Lupe Hernandez, and two brothers, Pete Sanchez and Paul Sanchez.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 9th Street and Lee Avenue, with Father Raul Covarubbias officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge.
