Adair Clark Clapp

Adair  Clapp, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 7, 2022.

Adair was born on July 4, 1954, to Glenn E. Clark and Tessibel Lambert Clark, the third of three children. True to her birthday, she was a firecracker. Adair grew up in Idaho Falls, where she attended Eastside Elementary, O.E. Bell, Central Jr. High School, and Idaho Falls High School. She was proud to be a part of the “72ers.” While in high school, she met the first love of her life, David Clapp. Adair and David were married in November 1973.

Adair worked for the Bank of Commerce until her daughter Amber was born in 1975. Later that year David was transferred to Great Falls, Montana. They lived there until the job ended and they moved home in 1976. David went to work for Max Ker and Son Lumber as a truck driver. Adair and Amber went with him and Adair took her turn driving to keep the loads moving. We’ve been told she could throw a strap better than some of the men.

Adair spent some time working Probation and Parole. After divorcing, she needed something different. In 1979, Adair went to work in security at the site. She transferred to transportation dispatch in town and later ran the office at the site landfill. She made many friends in her working career.

Adair was the neighborhood “Kool Aid” mom. The kids would come to her house to get in trouble because they knew she cared. During Amber’s high school years, Adair was one of the rodeo team advisors and the team mom. She loved all of “her kids.”

In March 1993, Adair was invited for a night out with friends. A night that would add joy to her life for the next 30 years. It was on this night she was introduced to Kenny Seek. Kenny quickly became Adair’s second love of her life and partner in crime. Adair and Kenny traveled to Mexico and Arizona every year, enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, and spoiling the grandkids together. He has been by her side through all four bouts of cancer.

Adair was a member of Elks Lodge #1087. She was also an Eagle’s Auxiliary #576 Past President, Past District and Past State officer. She enjoyed traveling to conventions and competing in Ritual with Amber. Many fun times were had and many great memories were made with her Eagles family.

Adair was diagnosed with her fourth cancer in 2018. Always a fighter, she fought hard until the end. She transitioned to her next adventure with family by her side.

Adair is survived by her other half, Ken Seek; daughter, Amber (Travis) Lake; grandchildren, Kash Lake and Kya Lake, all of Idaho Falls; bonus children, Brandon Seek of Nampa, ID; Matt (Cassandra) Seek and granddaughter, Adalyn Seek, all of Nampa; sister, Aarda Justin of Boise; sister, Glenna Pooley of Meridian; brother, Allyn (Ella) Clark of Idaho Falls; second family sisters, Carol (LaVal) Whitehead of Blackfoot, ID; Joyce (Glen) Evans of Cedar City, UT; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Glenn E. Clark; mother, Tess Christenson; second father, Frank Christenson; second family sister, LaRae (Jack) Hemenway; and brother-in-laws, Laird Justin and Tony Pooley.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shull and his amazing staff, Once Source Hospice - especially Corina, and United Energy Workers Healthcare - especially Brandi, for all the great care.
