Tamiko Watanabe Mori (Ada) Kishiyama, 91, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away September 19, 2013, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls of causes incident to age.
Ada was born July 24, 1922, in Buhl, Idaho, to Hishimoski (Ben) Watanabe and Katsu Yoshicka Watanabe. She also had an adoptive mother, Kane Mori Suin. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, and graduated from Central High School.
On February 14, 1942, she married William (Bill) Kishiyama in Idaho Falls. Together they had four sons, Dan, Spencer, Victor and Kayne. Bill passed away December 26, 2004.
Ada lived in Idaho Falls all of her life, where she was the owner of Ada’s Café. She retired in 1990. She was a housewife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), and was a member of Calvary Chapel. She enjoyed shopping, camping, fishing, skiing, and being with her family.
Ada is survived by her sons:
Dan (Nancy) Kishiyama of Idaho Falls, ID;
Spencer (Angie (deceased)) Kishiyama of Idaho Falls, ID;
Victor (Pat) Kishiyama of Idaho Falls, ID;
Kayne (Lisa) Kishiyama of Idaho Falls, ID;
Brother: Billy Watanabe of West Jordan, UT;
Brother: Bobby Watanabe of West Jordan, UT;
Sister: Seiko Sugiyama of North Carolina.
Eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Bill, three daughters-in-law, one grandson, and one great grandson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with her son, Dan Kishiyama, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
