Our precious husband, father, son, brother, and uncle, Aaron Scott Newton, 37, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away July 13, 2011, at his home after a nearly five year battle with cancer. He was under the care of his loving family and Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Aaron was born April 5, 1974, in Denver, Colorado, to Stephen Harrel Newton and LuAnn Stevenson Newton. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School, where he lettered in multiple sports. He then attended the University of Idaho, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. He won two national competitions in nuclear waste management and was published in scientific magazines. He married Brandi Ann Barlow June 10, 1995, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Portland, Oregon LDS Temple on April 15, 2006. In 1997 they moved to Vancouver, Washington, where he worked for SEH America, where he obtained multiple patents. In 2007 they returned to Idaho Falls and Aaron went to work at the NRF. Aaron was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved fishing, golfing, and football. Aaron had a wicked sense of humor and always provided colorful commentary under his breath to liven up every occasion. He loved to serve and always put others needs before his own. Aaron’s family was the joy of his life and he rejoiced in being with them. He loved watching his children participate in activities and was always thoughtful of them and their needs. Aaron is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Brandi, a son, Garrett Newton, two daughters, Isabelle Newton and AnnaKate Newton, all of Idaho Falls, ID; his parents, Stephen and LuAnn Newton of Meridian, ID; a sister, Sara (Brad) Newton-Klitz and their son, Ben, of Meridian, ID, and his in-laws, Les and Darla Barlow of Idaho Falls, ID. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James & Emaline Newton and Robert & Lucille Stevenson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS Taylor Mountain Stake, 260 Castlerock, Idaho Falls, with Bishop Scott Davis of the Boulevard Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and Saturday from 12 to 12:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
