Yvonne Booty-Fransen

Our sweet Yvonne Booty-Fransen, the oldest of three children born to Charles C. Reid and Edith Ruth Fielding Reid was born September 20, 1935, in Shelley, Idaho. After 82 years of caring and helping others, she passed away on January 1, 2018, at Fairwinds-Sand Creek Retirement Community. She grew up on a farm and attended schools in Taylor and Shelley. She graduated in the top 10% of her graduating class at Shelley High School. She also attended Ricks College, Idaho State College and graduated from Brigham Young University with her bachelor’s in secondary education with an emphasis on English, Speech/Drama and Counseling. On June 15, 1963, she married Bill Booty. Brian and Heather completed their family. Yvonne was dedicated to her children and spent endless hours helping at their schools, leading scouts, driving carpools, and much much more. Eventually Yvonne decided to go back to school. She attended Idaho State University where she earned her Master’s degree in Counseling. She began working as the Director for the Center for New Directions at EITC in Idaho Falls. She later met Kent Fransen at a singles dance. They married on July 23, 2003. Yvonne and Kent made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They shared her love of travel and spent countless hours on the road exploring new places. She even got Kent to go to Mexico a few years before his passing on April 22, 2015. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities. Yvonne always had a passion for theater arts and was an officer of Thespians. Her passion led to many wonderful years of acting, directing and working behind the scenes with community theaters. Her adventurous nature fueled trips like climbing Mt. Whitney, hiking through the Grand Canyon and exploring Japan. She also loved square dancing and playing cards. In fact, she was a sectional master bridge player with 51.79 master points. Yvonne led a life of service and always put others before herself. Our sweet Yvonne will be missed by all.
