Reta Summers Davis

Click Here To View Memorial Video Reta Hunter Summers Davis, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, of Rigby, passed away on October 18, 2013 at The Gardens of Rigby. She was born December 29, 1927, in Driggs Idaho, to Adam Hunter and Emma Hill Hunter. She grew up and attended schools in surrounding areas, graduating from Idaho Falls High School. On January 15, 1947, she married Dee Summers in the Idaho Falls Temple. He passed away in 1985. Reta loved dancing and met her 2nd husband at a Senior Citizen dance. On February 9, 1991, she married Elmo C. Davis in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Reta and Elmo spent many hours together caring for the dry farm. She loved the outdoors and sports. She enjoyed sledding, ice skating, water skiing, skiing behind the horse, baseball and watching her grandchildren play. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. We will miss her smiling face. Reta had many talents that she blessed others with. She loved flowers and had many beautiful plants. She enjoyed crocheting and making gifts for others. Reta was a very loving person who loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great example to all of us. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed serving in numerous callings including Primary Teacher and Young Women’s Leader. We would like to thank the staff at The Gardens for their loving care of her. Survivors are: Husband: Elmo Davis Son: Craig D. (Cassie J.) Summers, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Jeffrey R (Deborah) Summers, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Kirk J (Gloria) Summers, Idaho Falls, ID Stepdaughter-in-law: Debra Davis, Oklahoma Stepson: Brian B. (JoLynn) Davis, Rexburg, ID Brother: Rex (Donna) Hunter, Fort Collins, Colorado Sister: Darlene (Bob) Nave, Alpine, Ut 11 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dee, her parents, 5 brothers, 1 sister, and a stepson, Terry E. Davis. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Monday, October 28th, 2013, at the Rigby Stake Center, 258 W 1st N, Rigby, Idaho with Bishop Gregory Hayward, officiating. The Family will visit with friends, at the Rigby Stake Center, on Sunday from 6:30 to 8:00p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 to 10:45a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.

11 a.m. ,Monday, October 28, 2013 Rigby LDS 5th Ward 258 West 1st North Rigby, ID, Jefferson 83442 Notes: The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 6:30-8 p.m. and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m., both at the church. Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery
