John Grant Stinson

John Grant Stinson, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 16, 2020, at his home.

John was born January 4, 1954, in Wilmington, Delaware, to John William "Bill" Stinson and Lucille E. "Lou" Cornell Stinson.  He grew up and attended schools in Wilmington and graduated from McCain High School.

In 1976, he married Linda Jo in Wilmington, Delaware. John and Linda made their home in Wilmington, where John worked as an insurance salesman. Later in life he switched to a career as a personal trainer. Linda passed away July 8, 2013, and John relocated to Idaho.

He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Wilmington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working out, football, and baseball. Most of all, his favorite hobby was spending time with his three children–coaching them in baseball and taking them fishing.

John is survived by his children, Lindsay Renee Stinson, John Adam Stinson, and Brett Matthew Stinson, all of Middletown, DE; and sister, Colleen DeMasi of Wilmington, DE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Sharon Donahue.

A memorial gathering will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
