Irene (Mã¼Ller) Iervese

The world became a brighter place on February 13,1940, when Irene Iervese (née Müller) was born. Sadly, Irene departed to heaven on October 11, 2022.

Irene was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring grandmother, and a humble servant of God. We are all better for having the privilege to be a part of her life and will miss her greatly.

Irene immigrated to the United States of America at the age of 19 where she reunited with her sister, Hilda. When in night school, English classes, she met a handsome Italian emigrant named John. They were best friends from the day they met. In June of 1961, they married and truly lived the American dream. John and Irene raised their family in Patchogue, New York, and in retirement, enjoyed the fruit of their hard work in Fort Lauderdale before moving to Idaho Falls in 2021.

As a devout Christian and member of the New Apostolic Church, she touched the hearts of many souls with her kind nature, generosity, genuine love for all people, and unwavering faith. The fledgling congregation of Patchogue, New York (now Suffolk), originated in their home. Irene's love of family gatherings, especially on the holidays, was one of her true joys in life, but her home was always a place of fellowship for many loved ones and friends. There was always a wonderful meal, a smile, and a welcoming home to greet everyone.

As a child, she was a member of a prestigious German children's choir, and her apprenticeship was in accounting at Mercedes Benz. After establishing her home and family on a solid foundation, she later resumed her career as a bookkeeper in the manufacturing industry where she retired from Chemtainer Industries. She was very knowledgeable about nutrition, diet, and worked tirelessly to ensure her family had the very best. She loved to sing in the choir and arranged flowers for church services. During her golden years, Irene and John traveled to many countries and continents. Cruising was their preferred mode of travel. In all, there was always a profound appreciation for the beauty of nature. She loved to take long walks in the early morning and a swim in the evening with John. In her later stages of Alzheimer's, when words escaped her, that loving spirit would still touch her family, friends, and wonderful caregivers till her final days.

She is survived by her loyal and loving husband of 61 years, John; her four children, Thomas (Linda) Iervese of Wading River, NY, Ingrid Mahoney of Cazenovia, NY, Michael (Tina) Iervese of Idaho Falls, ID, and Laura (Sean) Mulligan of Howell, MI. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Brianna Smith, Aaron Iervese, Alissa Trifaro, Joshua Iervese, Nicholas Mahoney, Jackson Iervese, Emily Mahoney, Margaret Mulligan, Patrick Mulligan, and Benjamin Mulligan; four great grandchildren, Thomas Smith, Milo Iervese, Emery Iervese, and Logan Smith.

She will be joining, in heaven, her parents, Friedrich and Ella Müller; her dear sister, Hildegard Kuhl; brother in-law, Rudolph Kuhl; her sister, Gudrun Trento; and brother, Hans Müller.

Expressions of sympathy to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund in her memory would be greatly appreciated.
