ELDA CLOWARD
IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO -- Elda Afton Cloward, 97, formerly of Iona, died March 27, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was born January 12, 1912, at Logan, Utah to Jasper Conrad Knowles and Afton Brown Knowles. The family moved to Iona where she grew up and attended schools.
On June 25, 1929, she married Farron Cloward in Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on May 9, 1958. She was a mother and homemaker and also worked for the Bonneville School District. She lived in Iona until 2005, when she moved to live with her daughter, Marjean, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a secretary in the MIA for 8 years. Elda enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and doing crossword puzzles. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Marjean Burns, Las Vegas, NV
4 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 14 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Boyd Cloward; a daughter, Marsha Holverson; and a granddaughter, Kathy.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009, at the Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon). The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood East Side. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
