ElDean Leroy Milligan, 81, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away January 9, 2014, at his home.
ElDean was born January 18, 1932, in San Jacinto, CA, to John Byron Milligan and Constance Young Pugmire Milligan. He attended schools in Hemet, CA. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army.
On August 17, 1955, he married Dorothy Caroline Dean in Idaho Falls. They lived in Southern California until 1970, at which time they moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon. In 1988, they settled in Idaho Falls, where they have been living ever since. ElDean was a millwright for Jeldwen Doors.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS mission to the Central States Mission. He served in many capacities through the years, including in the scouting program, as a ward clerk, in a bishopric, as a stake missionary, and as a temple worker. He enjoyed going camping, hiking and fishing, doing genealogy, and woodworking - he was an excellent craftsman.
ElDean is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Milligan of Idaho Falls, ID;
son, Larry Dean (Cheryl) Milligan of Cedar City, UT;
daughter, Linda Irene (Robert) Kirch of Redding, CA;
son, Michael John Milligan of Tucson, AZ;
son, Ronald Jay (Sherry) Milligan of Klamath Falls, OR;
son, Donald Ray (Anna) Milligan of Los Angeles, CA;
son, Robert Ernest (Beth) Milligan of Layton, UT;
11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ronald Raymond Milligan, and an infant brother Robert.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Ammon LDS 1st Ward, 3000 Central Ave, with Bishop Ryan Kohler officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Rd., and from 10:00 to 10:45 Saturday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
